Letter to Pres. Skorton #13: Native American Students at Cornell and American Indian Science and Engineering Society

Native American Students at Cornell (NASAC) and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) deliver a letter to President Skorton in support of divestment from fossil fuels! As the voice of Native American students at Cornell, NASAC and AISES are fully engaged in the global struggle for indigenous rights. Indigenous communities are at the heart of the fight for environmental justice, and NASAC and AISES view divestment as an important step in a larger movement for human rights and the environment. Fossil fuel companies have long been guilty of extracting on indigenous land, infringing upon the rights of indigenous groups, negatively impacting their health, and the resources upon which they rely. The support of NASAC and AISES is incredibly valuable in the push for divestment and the larger movement in opposition to fossil fuels. We recognize that we as students are joining the fight that indigenous people have carried for many generations. Thanks so much NASAC and AISES! Read their letter here.
