Letter to Pres. Skorton #19: Black Students United

Selam Gebre and Nia Hall present a letter for President Skorton from Black Students United at Cornell! BSU members acknowledge their appreciation for Cornell’s motto “Any person, Any study”, which shows its commitment to supporting members of low income and minority communities. However, they also recognize that these are the same communities who face the greatest injustices at the hands of the fossil fuel industry, and investment in fossil fuels only helps to perpetuate this oppression. BSU calls for divestment on behalf of these disadvantaged frontline communities, and Cornell has a responsibility to oppose the existing injustice. Thanks so much for your support, BSU!
